Employee Retention Assessment Models based on EI

A team-based structure is fundamental for the survival of contemporary organizations and empowered employees are the foundation of such a structure. Using EI for learning ways to retain employees is in the best interest of organizations. Employee retention assessment models based on EI will help in simplifying and clarifying thinking patterns as well as in identifying key aspects that are to be taken care of as far as employees are concerned. Moreover, EI based assessment will help managers predict probable consequences of certain actions beforehand. It wouldn’t be wrong to state that EI-based assessment of retention models could be instrumental in development of explicit ideas and structure that could ensure a motivated team and competitive organization.

In this regard managers have an important role to play because management’s success relies on the manager’s ability to recruit and retain skilled employees. Managers need special skills to prevent employees from leaving job because they can sense how the employees feel about work environment and when to intervene effectively when employees start feeling discouraged or demotivated. When managers won’t be able to manage their own emotions, how can they manage employees’? Hence, Emotional intelligence need to be adopted at all levels of assessment to ensure that there is goodwill between managers, bosses and employees and that employees feel good about working for the organization.

In short, organizations where employees want to stay are those that utilize emotional intelligence and this is the change ILUMENOW intends to bring over time.
